Douglas MacDonald and his wife Maria moved to Falmouth in 1983 where he joined C.M. Murray Insurance Agency as a sales producer. Prior to moving to the Cape he worked with General Motor’s Assembly Division in their finance department. In 1987 he became a partner at C.M. Murray Insurance and Vice President of Sales. In 1995 Douglas became President of the Agency which had changed its name to Murray & MacDonald Insurance Service. His business philosophy can be summed as: “Do what is right”, “Treat the client how they want to be treated”, and “Do the best you can”. He currently serves on the boards of Cape Arts & Entertainment (Cape Cod Symphony/Conservatory), Philanthropy Partners of Cape Cod, and Mothers and Infants in Recovery Network. He is fluent in Swedish and his interests include family, friends, piano, cycling, running, golf, skiing, boating, enjoying life, and when decompressing from life’s challenges – weeding his lawn and garden.

Everyone seems to know John. He is always smiling and willing to take the extra effort to make sure that his clients get what they need - whether organizing a run to the registry or taking a photo of your home for insurance approval. Even though she is from Pennsylvania, Courtney developed a niche focus in the Ocean: she moved to the east coast and started working in the insurance industry in 1982 with Frank B Hall's ocean marine division in Boston. These days, when she is not reading best sellers or growing vegetables, flowers, and herbs in her garden, Courtney advises businesses. And she still still specializes with ocean marine: she earned her Certified Marine Insurance Professional designation in 2015. Courtney is married with 3 kids, 2 dogs, and she volunteers on the board of the West Falmouth Preschool.

As a native of Massachusetts, Janet naturally enjoys soaking up the rays outdoors, on the beach, or in her kayak. She especially covets time with her family in the summer. Ask Bob and if you are lucky, he will show you one of his old salty tattoos that evokes memories of his time in the U.S. Coast Guard, where he worked for 26 years as a criminal investigator. Bob is an artist and fisherman in his free time when he is not helping clients or working on home improvement projects. Bob works as an account manager and a client favorite in our Bourne office (since 1999).

Sara Giguere ControllerCIC
Sara Giguere received her B.A. Degree in Business Administration from Gordon College in 2005. She started her career in the banking industry, joining TD Bank on Cape Cod in 2005. Two years post college, Sara chose to join the insurance industry; she joined Murray & MacDonald Insurance in June 2007 as a Sales Associate. March 2010, she took an opportunity to become the Controller for the agency. Shortly thereafter she transitioned the accounting department to become paperless; a welcome update. In 2013 Sara joined the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents Young Agent Committee Board; she is currently serving her third year. In March 2015, Sara took the opportunity to buy into her agency; she is part-owner and Financial Controller.
Sara is married to Caleb. They have four children. She enjoys spending time with family, being outdoors, going to the beach, traveling and participating in her local CSA at Appleton Farms.

Peter is partner and Vice President at Murray & MacDonald and works as a Risk Advisor. In addition to three professional industry designations he is matriculated into the CPCU and CWCA programs. Peter advocates for his clients lobbying in Washington DC annually with the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America. He is a board member of the Marine and Ocean Technology Network, member of the Falmouth Aquatics Steering Committee, Falmouth Academy Alumni Council (Outreach Chair), the Cape Cod Marine Trades Association, and the Rhode Island Water Works Association. He is a 2015 honoree for the Cape & Plymouth Business 40 Under 40 Awards, which recognize distinguished businesspeople under the age of 40. Gabriel is an Account Manager. He currently carries a Certified WorkComp Specialist designation from the Institute of Worker’s Compensation Professionals. He plans on continuing his studies pursuing the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation.
Gabriel graduated University of MA- Dartmouth with a BA in Political Science and a minor in English. He is interested in the arts, music, language and communication, and community outreach. Gabriel enjoys the outdoors, sports, creative thinking, making music, and helping others.
John Shelott Account Manager
John Shelott joined our agency as an Account Manager in the Personal Lines Department in August of 2017. John is originally from Geneva, Ohio. After graduating from Wheaton College (Wheaton, Illinois) he moved to Worcester, MA where he lived for 12 years. He then moved to Chandler, Arizona for 4 years and has now settled here in Falmouth, MA.
John is married to Sarah and have 3 children that keep them busy. He enjoys music, reading, spending time with family and pastoring a local church.
